Thursday October 15th, 2009 at 6:00 pm

IMG_0557It’s a pretty relaxed day today.

Everybody is enjoying the sun in view of the big day, tomorrow: the Main Event of € 4,500. Well, not everybody as there are still 22 players playing the 1,800 € Side Event started yesterday. The Level today is 35 minutes, making it interesting and almost deep stack. Blinds are now 3000/6000 with 500 ante. Average stack is 98,182.

Unfortunately Jean Christophe Rigal (the winner of the 500 € Side Event) has just been busted, but has the consolation of being in the money.

Will tell more as sson as we come to the final table :-)

Ross Boatman Winner of The WPT NL High Roller Event!!!! 0

Wednesday October 14th, 2009 at 7:20 pm

2small_MG_0422When we saw the heads-up kicked off we all thought it was going to take a while or…forever!

Both players had more or less the same stack and it was supposed to take time untill of of them had to make the final move. Instead it only took Ross 2 hands to win.

The final hand was just a question of luck: both players went all in with 2-2 (Dominik) and K-J (Ross). Ross made a higher pair could raise his hands into the air!

His 1st place was paid with around  € 150, 000 and Dominik got more or less € 90,000 with his 2nd place.

Very nice job guys!!!

High Roller Event: Down to Heads UP! 0

Wednesday October 14th, 2009 at 7:00 pm

2small_MG_0550Unfortunately Bichon  had not really a lot of time to celebrate his victory against Boatman.

He raised pre flop with AD-9D suited and got called by Dominik and Ross. Flop comes AH-4D-4H and Dominik makes a bet of 17k, called by Ross but raised ALL In by Bichon who had paired his Aces. This time only Ross calls. The turn and river showed  Q -J of hearts. Bichon had to let his Aces go aginst a Flush.

The Heads Up can now start, with the best two players of this event: Ross Bpatman and Dominik Nitsche.

Bichon takes homearound 62,000 €.

Only one Boatman remaining! 0

Nitsche heads-up vs Boatman

Nitsche heads-up vs Boatman

It is a very quick final table. I just came back with an Heads -Up News. Yes, true, only 2 players remaining.

The 5th place went to Serge Kamerer.

Dominik Nitsche  had another nice run over him when they both went All In with QJ and AQ and Dominik paired his Ace while Serge left the table with more or less 30,000 € in his pocket.

The 4th place was a battled one between Thomas Bichon and Barney Boatman.

Barney had to go ALL IN at the button being short stack with more or less 90,000 chips. It was not that difficult for Thomas to call. Understandable when he showed his 5-5 against 7-10 in Boatman’s hands. The flop came 8-6-4 and Bichon was still ahead but the river first and then the turn after made his face turn upside down when he saw 10 and then 7. Barney made two pair but he made a straight :)

Barney now leaves his brother playing alone and he will wait him home with a nice 45,000 € to celebrate….maybe his brother’s victory??

News from the High Roller Final Table – 7th and 6th place 0

roger

The High Roller Final table is now made of 5 players.

The first one to go was Roger Hairabedian against Dominik Nitsche.

His A10 made him go All IN but they couldnt fight Dominik AJ. No surprises on the flop, river or turn and Roger decided to go and start playing the 1,800 Side Event. Bubble boy will get revenge this time as the 10 didnt come on the river.

After a short while we had our first paid player as Nagib Bemmis was busted against Ross Boatman.

His KQ made him go ALL IN and this time Ross showed the same (this time lucky) hand as Roger before A10.

The flop and turn were a perfect present for Ross who made trips with A-J-2-A. Nagib’s prayers for a ten were not listened and Ross Boatman became the new chip Leader with more than 450,000 chips.

Nagib Takes home more or less € 16,000 (162,000 DH)

SANY0054

While the High Roller players are about to be seated, another Event has started in the Main Tournament Room. It is the Highest Buy In Side Event of this WPT Edition in Marrakech.

213 players bought in with 1,800 €. There are some interesting come backs as we can see a lot of players who played the past events of this week and who want to give their skills another chance. Among them Roger Hairabedian, who just busted from the High Roller finale table (unlucky bubble boy), Fabrice Soulier, Annette Obrestad, Tristan Clemencon.

Not to forget our Chilipker players: The Chilipoker winner of the € 500SANY0055 NLHE Freezout of last Sunday, Jean Christophe Rigal, our Spanish player Gerard Rodriguez and one of our online qualified players Gwenael Gosch who will also play the Main Event on Friday . Our Liz Lieu is at Table 2, Seat 9.

Total Prizepool is around 383,400 Euro. Top 30 Places paid.
Blinds are now 75/150 with 25 minutes level. Average stack has grown to 10,812 as 16 players left (197 players still in).

Let me go check out the High Rikker Final table as I am hearing it has more empty seats!

High Roller Event Final Table: Official Chip Count. 2

Wednesday October 14th, 2009 at 3:14 pm

The tournament went on and on last night and with 7 players left, the Tournament Director decided to call it a night (or day?) and setlled the final table to start today at 14:00.

Ross Boatman still in the lead while Roger Hairabedian is the short stack of the table, with little less than 7 big blinds to go.

Will he be the one in the bubble? Very hard to come all the way through and be left with no money after more than 24 hours playing non stop :-)

Here the official Chipcount:

Ross Boatman : 382 100
Dominik Nitsche : 331 000
Serge Kamerer : 227 900
Nagib Bemmis : 171 800
Thomas Bichon : 145 600
Barney Boatman : 71 400
Roger Hairabedain : 27 700

The action will start in less than one hour with Dominik Nitsche on the button.

Let’s grab something to eat because we need to be ready to celebrate the winner!! :)

High Roller Event Final Table 1

Wednesday October 14th, 2009 at 1:55 am

Final tableWe had a quite interesting hand which led to Montgomery being busted.

Scott was in position and raised to 4,200 pre flop. On his left there was Boatman who after a lot of thoughts went ALL IN and Montgomery called. He showed his pair of Sixes against pair of Queens.
The cards running on the table were A-Q-8-8-J and this costed Montgomery almost all his stack.

The next hand in fact he was suddenly out, having to go ALL In against Lellouche.
Lellouche showed his Q-10 against A-9. He paired his Queen and his 10, while Scott was left with no chips and only an Ace.final table

As soon as Scott left there was another player out at the second table: Tore Lager lost all his chips against Thomas Bichon. He went all in when the river was already dealt just to find out that his straight was not enough to beat a Full House. Regrettably Lager showed his 8-9 while Bichon happily held his J-7. The cards on the table were 7-J-7-6-10.

This was really unespected as Lager had a stack of almost 150.000 and now Bichon is the offical Chip Leader.

Players down to 10 :-) We have our Final Table with Blinds now 800/1600 with 200 ante. Average stack 135,000.
