Chili vs. Chili 0

Saturday October 17th, 2009 at 10:14 pm

While the bubble is getting closer and closer for the 59 remaining players, Balazs Botond and William Ferrer, sitting just next to eachother at the same table, untighted their game to play a heads up. Our Hungarian player, shortstack at the table with slightly more than 50K raised preflop, to see William and his stack of almost 200K (avarage stack is 170K) reraising him allin. After a couple of seconds, Balazs called to show AhQh, while Wil shows KcKs.

Two hearts arrive on the flop 5h Jc Th, followed by a 2s and the final hit: 8h

putting Balazs back in business, while Wil should still have enough chips to reach the paid places.

William Ferrer kicks Annette15 out of the Main Event 3

Saturday October 17th, 2009 at 5:17 pm

Our Chilipoker French qualified player, who had a nice Day 1, finishing with a stack of over 60K, just had the honour to send the WSOPE 07 winner Annette Obrestad back home.

Annette pushed her 30k chips allin preflop after a reraise of William, small blind, and pockets kings in his hand. William, whose stack just covered Annette’s, quickly called to see her show pockets nines. No help on the board, Annette is out, and William is now back in business with over 65k!

Jami Juutila out of the Main Event 0

Friday October 16th, 2009 at 9:40 pm

A third Chilipoker qualified player just busted out of the Main Event. The young Finnish player Jami Juutila, short stack at his table, just busted after having pushed all in on the turn for a straight draw with

4h 5h on the following board:

Kc 7h 8d 2c

The players on his left immediately called, a King in his hand.

A 8c on the river didn’t bring any help and that’s how Jami had to leave the tournament room.

2nd Chilipoker qualified player out: Jean-Christophe Rigal 0

Friday October 16th, 2009 at 9:29 pm

Just before the second break we lost our 2nd Chilipoker qualified player, Jean-Christophe Rigal, unlucky when he

Jean-Christophe Rigal

Jean-Christophe Rigal

reraised all in preflop with AK to face the pocket queens of the one player. The As that came on the flop gave him a short happy time until a fatal queen shows up on the river and put an end to Jean Christophe’s tournament.

Despite this bust on the Day 1 of the Main event, the Moroccan stay of Jean Christophe will remain a crazy poker week for him, with his amazing first place at the € 500 NLHE freezeout Side Event of last Sunday and a very nice 27th place at the € 1,800 NLHE freezeout Side Event of last Wednesday, for a total amount of winnings of almost € 30,000!

Congratulations Jean Christophe!
